Whiteout

So the hall had a halloween party the other day where one of the guys dressed up as Obama, complete with graying hair and everything. When asked what he used to gray his hair his reply was,  "Whiteout".

As far as an update for the vegetarian thing goes, I've realized that I am completely in the hands of the Rot (what LU students affectionately call the cafeteria). If the Rot serves eggplant casserole in the vegetarian line I'm left with little other choice besides the salad bar. Needless to say, I've been eating a lot of salads lately.

2 Weeks as a Rabbit

A lacto ovo vegetarian. A vegetarian that eats dairy and eggs. That's what I've decided to be for the next two weeks, mainly because I just want to see if I can do it. As almost everyone that knows me knows, I'm probably the biggest health nut you'll ever meet. I'd choose a carrot over a cookie any day (which I guess is why I've heard the name 'carrot boy' so much). Anyway, I figured that if I'm studying to be a personal trainer right now eventually I'd have to help someone who's a vegetarian and I'd need to understand what it's like, plus I thought it would be kinda fun in a goofy self-inflicted pain kind of way.

I decided to include dairy and eggs mainly because I really, really like dairy and eggs and I don't feel like giving those up. The other reason being that eggs and milk are mixed into a lot of different foods and I don't know yet how to tell if they're in what I'm eating yet or not. Anyway, I'll keep ya'll posted as to how it goes and hopefully in two weeks I will be able to tell you what exactly is it like to be a vegetarian (lacto ovo to be precise).

The Beginning

So I finally started a blog. I've been wantin' to do this for a while now, but have just never gotten around to doing it. There's a few reasons that I've been wanting to do this lately.

First, I figured it'd be a good way for friends and family to see what's been goin' on in my life lately. From people I've met in China, to friends in highschool and here at college, and family far away I figured this would be the best way for me to stay in contact due to my not being able to stay on the phone or facebook 24/7. Second, a lot of funny stuff has been goin' on lately and it's fun to be able to tell people. Not that I like to talk about myself all the time, but I do enjoy tellin' people what's happened recently. Lastly, I figured it'd be fun. I've been reading a few other great blogs lately (here they are: consideritrubbish.blogspot.com and byhopewesteer.wordpress.com)and I love being able to see what those people are doing and how things are going for them, and I guess that I had a faint (did I spell that right?) hope that people would have the same for me. (Gosh, I didn't mean for it to come across that sappy.)

Anyway, here's the first post and I'll keep ya'll updated on how things are going.
